The pod mounts under the shoulder pad and reads the field faster than the boy wearing it — approach vector, closing speed, mass, angle of arrival — and resolves the contact before he's aware there was one to resolve. Once mounted, the pod calibrates every contact to be audible and not consequential. Impact is timed to a tolerance of four tenths of a second — long enough to look brave, short enough to walk off the field on his own. The crowd hears the courage. Your son does not pay for it. Every parent in those stands is hoping. You will be the only one who knows.
